We bring knowledge together with production, and innovative ideas together with the implementation power of industry.
As the ESİDER Board of Directors, we hosted Mr. Bilal Çinici, General Manager of 1773 İTÜ TTO, at the second session of the “ESİDER–İTÜ Vision Meetings”, held with the hosting of Netpak Ambalaj.
As part of the program, we visited the Netpak Ambalaj R&D Center and production facilities and evaluated our R&D activities, production capabilities, and technology-oriented projects on site.
We then held discussions on concrete initiatives that could be implemented with the aim of bringing together Istanbul Technical University’s academic knowledge and technology development capabilities with the production capacity of Esenyurt’s industrial sector.
The main objective of this initiative is to bring innovative ideas, patents, and technologies emerging from universities, technology transfer offices, and the entrepreneurship ecosystem together with the right SMEs and industrial companies. In this way, we aim to establish a sustainable cooperation model that will enable studies remaining at the laboratory or theoretical stage to be transformed into prototypes, products, investments, and commercial success.
During our meeting, ESİDER President Turgut Şavlı shared his evaluations regarding previous technology-oriented initiatives carried out in Esenyurt and the experience gained within the scope of the Patent Movement.
Netpak Ambalaj Chairman of the Board Ali Avcı shared his experience in TÜBİTAK projects, university collaborations, and international patent processes, stating that he believes a strong cooperation to be established between Esenyurt’s industrial sector and 1773 İTÜ TTO will generate significant results.
ESİDER Board Member Fevzi Torolsan presented the project roadmap and the framework of the initiatives planned to be implemented in the autumn of 2026.
During our discussions, we addressed topics such as clustering models, TÜBİTAK 1501 and 1507 programs, İSTKA support programs, European Union projects, commercialization of patents, and the rapid matching of innovative ideas with industrial companies.
Özgür Avcı, Netpak Ambalaj Board Member, ESİDER Board Member, and Member of the TOBB Türkiye Packaging Council, also emphasized that university–industry cooperation should not be limited to the exchange of ideas; the main objective should be to transform this cooperation into concrete projects, patents, new products, investments, and exports.
Özgür Avcı stated that bringing together İTÜ’s scientific and technological knowledge with the production experience of industrial companies in Esenyurt would create important opportunities both for regional industry and for Türkiye’s value-added production goals.
We do not see this process merely as a series of meetings. We aim to build a permanent bridge between Esenyurt’s strong production expertise and İTÜ’s scientific and technological capacity; to transform ideas into projects, projects into production, and production into added value.
We believe that this cooperation will develop into a successful and sustainable model that sets an example for university–industry relations.
