Can we get to know Netpak?

By following the trends in the world in the early 2000s, Netpak started to search for alternatives to disposable or non-recyclable products and started producing environmentally friendly packaging in 2005. Netpak; In addition to producing and developing environmentally friendly products, production technologies and machines in-house, it also started to produce technology in national and international markets with the technology company Ultrapak Makina, which it founded in 2017. Our company is advancing strongly in the field of production with a total of 40 employees, 20 of which are R&D employees; As of February 2023, it was registered as an R&D Center by the Ministry of Industry.

Could you tell us about your R&D strategy?

Our company, which carries nonwoven fabric to automation production lines with ultrasonic welding, has enabled 100 percent recyclable and reusable technical fabric to find a place in the packaging industry. Since the first automated production that created a global economic impact on the industry, our goal has been to continue this innovation and expand its usage area. We own more than 70 patents and utility models that we received from TÜRKPATENT and the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) with the R&D studies initiated in line with this goal. We have carried out projects supported by TÜBİTAK and KOSGEB and successfully completed. We achieved these successful works by earning 10 lira and spending 9 lira on R&D.

How much of your turnover do you allocate to R&D?

We established our sister company called Ultrapak Makine in 2017 to expand our R&D activities. We show the value we attach to R&D by continuing our work in two separate branches. Our R&D budget, which was 1 percent of our turnover eight years ago, has reached 7 percent today. Our goal is to raise this figure much higher.

“WE CONTINUE OUR WORK TO GROW OUR R&D CENTER”

“WE DEVELOP INNOVATIVE PRODUCTS”

As the pioneer of reusable, environmentally friendly carrying bags in our country in the packaging industry, we are the first company to use the ultrasonic welding method in these products. The products we develop with ultrasonic welding method are more durable. We conduct R&D studies by closely observing market needs and develop solutions to meet these needs. We develop innovative products using different materials in addition to standard products and expand our product range day by day. We also make our own machines to use in production processes. In this regard, we are one step ahead of our competitors abroad in terms of efficiency.”

“WE ARE AWARE OF THE IMPORTANCE OF R&D”

Eco-friendly shopping bags produced in the Far East by hand stitching have become widespread in the world, but our country does not get enough share from this market. Netpak; As a result of its technology-oriented investments, it led the world's companies that produce carrying bags with automation systems and are suitable for green transformation, and became one of the world's largest in this regard. We strive to bring this value to our country with our technical and marketing infrastructure so that our country becomes the world leader in the recycled bag industry. “We are aware of the importance of R&D in order to achieve these goals, and we continue our work to grow our R&D Center.”
